Current Projects

Please see below for the various Village projects that are currently on-going and will be starting soon. 

Lake Shore Drive Project
Due to the Village's preparedness in being shovel-ready to begin the Lake Shore Drive Project, the Village has received additional funding of $1.2 million. This increases the funding of the overall project from just over $2.1 million to $3.32 million. The additional funding allows the roadway project to extend westward along Sprucewood Lane to Rolling Ridge Lane.

The beginning work for the Lake Shore Drive Project has already started. The appraisals on the needed easements for construction have been submitted to the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) for their review. Residents affected by the acquisition of those easements can expect to be contacted in the coming weeks.

Prior to the roadway reconstruction, the water main along the route beginning at Green Tree Court to Sprucewood Lane will be replaced. Construction for the water main replacement is expected to start in March 2024. The Village is targeting a winter 2023 bid for the Lake Shore Drive Project, with the estimated construction starting in July 2024. 

Street Resurfacing
The 2023 Road Resurfacing project is quickly coming to a close, with 75% of the project being complete! This year's road project covers 1.2 miles of Village streets, including Constitution Drive, Constitution Court, Gettysburg Court, Providence Lane, Springhill Lane, Mallard Drive, and Munn Road. Work on these roadways included removing and replacing the curb and sidewalk, adjusting storm sewers, removing the road asphalt, and performing restorations. The project is expected to be completed by the end of September, with the first layer of asphalt (binder) being placed beginning September 12th.  The final lift of asphalt will be placed the week of September 18th. We appreciate your patience and understanding as construction wraps up.

Briargate is the first large scale master planned Age Restricted Community in the Village of Lindenhurst. This community of 228 detached single-family active-adult residences includes a clubhouse and other amenities. About 50% of the site remains as permanent, undisturbed Open Space, creating spectacular vistas. This maintenance-free, single-level living subdivision along the Route 45 corridor will provide the Village with additional housing diversification. As an age-restricted development for folks 55 and over, the traditional burden on schools is eliminated, while creating a variety of positive benefits.
