Building & Engineering
The Village's Building and Engineering Office is responsible for all building permits and inspection of commercial and residential construction activity. Staff provides coordination of engineering services for Village infrastructure improvements and oversight of construction inspection for all new building construction within the Village.
After submission, the Village's turnaround time is normally 7-10 days to issue a permit. Once your work is ready to be inspected, please call the Village Hall at 847-356-8252 to set up an inspection. The Village contracts with Lake County for building inspection services. Depending on inspection load, the building inspector is in the office on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
