Pay My Utility Bill

Village of Lindenhurst Resident's utility bill consists of water, sewer, and garbage. Residents can pay their bill with a variety of options. 

  • Invoice Cloud: InvoiceCloud is an electronic billing and payment service that allows you to monitor your balance, or make payments 24/7. Contact Village Hall at 847-356-8252 if you need your account number so you can set up this user-friendly option. InvoiceCloud allows you to pay via:
    • Online through InvoiceCloud: InvoiceCloud is an electronic billing and payment service that allows you to monitor your balance or make payments 24/7. This platform also offers options for autopay, direct debit, and pay schedules for future dates (before the due date).
    • Phone: Call 855-922-1076 (account number required). Make a secure payment from your landline or mobile device. All credit cards are accepted.
    • Text: Get text notifications about your bill, or make a payment 24/7 with a credit/debit card or e-check.

  • Drop Box: The Village's payment drop box is located outside the main door at Village Hall (2301 E. Sand Lake Road).

Understanding your Utility Bill
How often do I get billed?
Village of Lindenhurst customers receives bi-monthly bills (once every two months) for the prior 61 days of consumption. Your utility bill is due on the 21st of the month. Water bills are determined by a customer's usage. 
What are the Water and Sewer Rates?
As of May 1, 2023, the Village charges $6.33 per Unit (100 cubic feet) for water, and $5.98 per Unit (100 cubic feet) for sewer.
What are the Garbage and Recycling Rates?
As of May 1, 2023, the Village charges the following for Groot garbage and recycling services:

95 Gallon Garbage and Recycling (per month) $25.70
65 Gallon Garbage and Recycling (per month) $24.17
35 Gallon Garbage and Recycling * and senior discount (per month) $22.65

What are the penalties if I don't pay my bill on time?
  • Late Charges: A 10% penalty will be added to the current unpaid bill if payment is not received in full by the due date.
  • Non-sufficient funds charge (NSF): A $30 service charge will be applied to your account for each check that is returned or ACH payment that is not honored by your bank.
  • Water service turn-on/turn-off fee: A $50 service fee will be applied to your account per trip for any call to such premises by a Village employee that is necessary because of nonpayment of water or sewer charge. 
What is the Transportation Facilities Fee?
In lieu of vehicle stickers,  the Village charges an annual per household vehicle tax charge of $60.00, which is included in the customer's utility bill. The transportation facilities fee is broken up over six annual billings at $10.00 per cycle. Senior, handicap, and military reductions are available. 
What is the Capital Fee?
The Village charges a Capital Fee as a funding mechanism to fund improvements to the Village's distribution system and capital improvement projects. Additionally, the Capital Fee ensures that the Village's utility systems are properly maintained and operated. 

The Village's Capital Fee is $4.50 a month ($9.00 per billing cycle).
Is there a senior discount for my Utility Bill?
Yes! The Village offers a senior, handicap, military, and commercial reduction discount for those eligible. Please fill out the Village's Fee Reduction/Exemption application for review.
