Milburn By-Pass Update (9/24/18)

Construction Update – Work is progressing at the new intersection of Independence Drive and Route 45.  Berger Construction has lowered Village utilities 2’ feet through the intersection to accommodate the new roadway elevation. The aggregate subbase and recycled asphalt base are now going in and later this week Berger’s subcontractor will start forming the intersection. The Rt. 45 pavement will be Portland Cement (PC) Concrete and will be placed next week. After the concrete is poured, the curing process will require pavement saw-cutting in a very short time window. As a result, extended work hours will be needed, and residents may hear the saws working after normal work hours. Outside of the Rt. 45 pavement, Independence Drive pavement will be asphalt and placed after the 7 day curing process is complete for the new PC Concrete.
