House Watch

Going on vacation? Leaving town for business? Whatever the reason may be, being away from your home for any length of time can lead to anxiety if you have security concerns. The Lindenhurst Police Department House Watch Program can help alleviate your concerns. Officers will conduct area checks more regularly while you are away. To take advantage of this program, simply submit a Request for Service, or email/drop off a completed House Watch Form.

Note: The Lindenhurst Police Department does not accept any responsibility for the security of the residence and/or any property. The Police Department may make periodic checks of your property.  The House Watch form merely provides information of your whereabouts and other facts should a crime occur.

Remember, we cannot be in the area all the time; good neighbors are the best defense against criminal activity. Get to know your neighbors and watch out for each other!

CHOICES program - The Lindenhurst Police Department educates fifth grade students of the dangers associated with substance abuse through in-school participation at BJ Hooper School and Millburn District 24 Schools.

The Village of Lindenhurst requires all solicitors to have a Lindenhurst-issued Solicitor Permit on their person when going door to door.  This permit ensures that the Lindenhurst Police Department has performed a criminal background check on each of these individuals.

If you do not want solicitors at your residence, you may post a "No Solicitors Invited" card on your door.

Car Seat Installation

The Lake Villa Fire Department provides car seat installation.

Station Tours

The Lindenhurst Police Department welcomes community groups to take a guided tour of the facility at 2300 East Grand Avenue.  This invitation is open to youth groups and adult groups alike.

How long the tour will last is up to you and the time frame available.  The size of the group and the ages of the children are factors that are also taken into consideration.  However, most tours last from 45 to 60 minutes.

To set up a tour of the facility, call the Lindenhurst Police Department at (847) 356-5400, or email police@lindenhurstpd.org.  If at all possible, it's best to call as far in advance as possible.
