Ideas for Writing a Letter of Support for
Vista Health System
Thank you for agreeing to write a letter in
support of Vista Health System’s investment of more than $170
million in Lake County’s health care services. Vista’s plans include
a new medical center in Lindenhurst, a new open heart program at
Vista Medical Center East and $70 million in renovations to Vista’s
Waukegan facilities.
We know it can be difficult determining where
to start when writing a letter of support so we have included
several possible ideas and facts to include in your letter. These
paragraphs are meant to aid you in starting or writing your letter.
We’ve also included a sample letter of support on the next page. We
encourage you to write the letter in your own voice; using these
points as your foundation.

There is a tremendous need for better access to
hospital care – particularly in the north and western parts of Lake
County.
·
Lake County currently has more than 700,000 residents.
The population is expected to increase between 3 and 6 percent to
approximately 800,000 by 2020. Vista’s plans address the growing
population and ensure all Lake County residents have access to
necessary health care services.
·
Vista’s plans ensure that Lake County employers and
employees will continue to have local medical care. This access to
quality health care will help keep the county strong and vibrant.
·
This project will provide Lake County with
construction jobs and new permanent jobs.
·
Vista’s plans support the strong economy in northern
Lake County, which continues to attract top employers, bringing more
jobs and growth to all of Lake County.
·
Vista Health System expects to contribute more than $4
million to the community through property taxes in 2006, which means
additional support for city services such as schools, parks and
police protection.

Vista’s plans will support the community, create jobs,
strengthen the economy and keep the county strong.
