The Administration Department consists of the Administrator, Office Manager, five full time and one part time support staff who perform the daily administrative functions. This includes finance, legal, planning, building and zoning support and related new development activity. Standard customer service, clerical and accounting practices are performed as well as those required to produce sewer/water utility billing and collections. Office staff provide clerical support and customer service for all appointed Boards and Commissions, Treasurer and Clerk and external departments including Building, Engineering, Street and Water/Sewer. The Village Hall office is a contract postal substation to the main post office in Lake Villa. Most all services including postal boxes are provided with the exception of overseas packages and postal money orders.

The Engineering and Building Departments are staffed by the Director of Public Works/Village Engineer and a Building Inspector. The two departments work together to monitor and enforce building and zoning regulations on existing property and to perform compliance reviews and inspections on new construction. The Director of Public Works oversees the maintenance, repair, reconstruction or replacement of all existing infrastructure serving the general populace. He is responsible for the development and construction of new infrastructure in developing areas of the village. The Director of Public Works/Village Engineer oversees daily activities in the Street and Utility Department.

Street Department is comprised of eight full-time employees, one of which is an Arborist. The regular full-time crew is augmented by three part-time summer employees and nine on-call winter employees. The Street Department has numerous responsibilities including maintenance of approximately 82 lane miles of Village streets and rights-of -way, 106 cul-de-sacs, 2,800 parkway trees, 118 Village owned street lights, numerous storm sewers, culverts, ditches, curbs, sidewalks maintenance of the Village Hall complex, plus maintenance and repair of 32 Village vehicles, 2 backhoes, 2 tractors, trailers, trailer mounted equipment and numerous hand and power tools for all Village Departments.

The Utility Department is comprised of a Superintendent, ten full-time and two to three part-time employees. The Water Department has numerous responsibilities including maintenance and operation of five well houses, nine wells two elevated water storage tanks, five chemical feed systems for chlorine, five chemical feed systems for polyphosphate, approximately 35 miles of water mains, approximately 400 fire hydrants approximately 3,500 B-boxes and water meters, 7 department vehicles and one combination backhoe/loader.

The sewer division has numerous responsibilities including maintenance and operation of a 2 million gallons daily wastewater treatment facility; eleven-wastewater pumping stations, approximately 35 miles of sanitary sewers, and shares the same equipment with the water division.

The Lindenhurst Police Department is comprised of 16 full-time sworn employees. These sworn law enforcement positions include the Chief, 3 Watch Commanders, 10 Police Officers and four part-time sworn Police Officers. Additionally the Police Department employs a Community Service Officer, a Senior Records Clerk and 3 part-time Records Clerks/Dispatchers.

The Police Department utilizes a fleet of 8 squad cars, all of which contain VHF mobile radios. Seven of the patrol cars are equipped with mobile computers giving access to state and federal data. A durable, "off road" mountain bicycle is also available for patrol purposes.

Non-emergency dispatching, clerical services and operation of non-emergency telephone lines are performed within the Lindenhurst facility, roughly 68 hours per week, by internal staff. This results in a period of 100 hours per week in which the non-emergency telephone lines are forwarded to Antioch Dispatch Center who is Lindenhurst's contract service provider. All land line emergency "911" calls are answered directly by the Antioch Dispatch Center. These calls are then dispatched to the Lindenhurst Police personnel by way of the UHF portable radios, in-car mobile data terminals or by telephone when appropriate.

"911" calls made via cellular phones are initially dealt with by the Lake County Sheriff's Office dispatching center, which is located in Libertyville. After determining the nature of the incident, and the appropriate jurisdiction, the call is delivered to the proper dispatch center via the computer aided dispatch system.
