Village officials recently announced the launch of its new web site with a customer service-oriented design and improved online services. The website can be viewed by visiting
www.lindenhurstil.org.
Mayor Lahr stated "the new homepage lets us better showcase our offerings, and highlights events and happenings in the Village." "We wanted to create a website that was informative, easy to use, and provided numerous e-government initiatives that would allow residents to access municipal business from the comforts of their home 24 hours, seven days a week," Mayor Lahr continued.
There are several features that make information more accessible:

Really Simple Syndication (RSS) allows residents to receive instant notification of news updates on their computer or hand-held device.

The Forms and Documents page is a centralized location for residents to access public records. These include Village Board and committee minutes and agendas, permit and application forms, building department information, press releases and newsletters.

Improved economic development information provides a listing of information for available properties and shopping centers in the Village. It includes zoning information, contact information for listing agents and a map of the property.

Locations and facilities provides maps and contact information for key locations in the Village such as the police station, or Park District Offices.

Online forms allows residents to complete and submit forms online. These include house watch requests, bike registration or volunteering for a Village Commission.

Business directory allows local business as to submit their information for publication on the Village's website.

Online posting of Village projects to be bid.
The new website continues the Village's past e-government practices:

Searchable online Village Code.
"The Village's website is an ongoing project that will be updated and enhanced where it benefits residents of this community", stated Mayor Lahr.
The new Village website launched on January 11, 2010.
