The Public Works Department maintains and operates the Village water, waste water and sewer, storm sewer systems, and maintenance of residential roads and parkways under the Village's jurisdiction:
  • Maintain and operate more than 53 miles of sanitary sewers.
  • Maintain and operate two wastewater treatment facilities and the treatment of 510 million gallons of sanitary sewage annually.
  • Maintain and operate 11 wastewater pumping stations.
  • Maintain and operate over 51 miles of water mains.
  • Maintain and operate 728 fire hydrants.
  • Operate 2 elevated water storage tanks storing 1,250,000 gallons.
  • Maintain six water supply well houses, ten wells for the delivery of 401 million gallons of drinking water.
  • Maintain 4,549 b-box valves and water meters.
  • Maintain and snowplow 94.3 lane miles of streets.
  • Maintain 5,312 parkway trees.
  • Maintain 134 Village-owned streetlights.
