Provide Input at Community Forums and Shape Lake County's Future
In a democracy, citizens should have a say in their government. You can influence the goals and strategies that drive how and where the County will focus its resources by sharing your thoughts and views at one of six Lake County Community Forums.
Lake County will use the input to identify the most critical challenges facing our region, determine the County's role in addressing those issues, and develop a long-term plan. The County's goal is to listen and deliberate issues among residents with diverse interests, backgrounds and perspectives, so we can develop results that matter to you.
More information is available on the County website at <http://www.co.lake.il.us/communityforum/>.

Veterans who receive public aid through food stamps or have a medical card are eligible for this program. Also veterans who are not eligible for dental assistance from the VA and are receiving assistance from Illinois Department of Human Services are eligible.

More Road Salt County snow plows have already used most of their supply of the ice control material they thought they would need this winter. But an emergency contract approval by the County Board will make sure the Division of Transportation has another 5,000 tons of road salt. The County Highway system includes 305 centerline miles of roadways. Lake County Division of Transportation removes snow and ice on county roadways such as Washington Street, Rollins Road, Butterfield Road, Fairfield Road, Hunt Club Road, Cedar Lake Road, Petite Lake Road, Grass Lake Road, Deep Lake Road and Monaville Road.
